ST. CLAIR COUNTY, Ill. – Crews from multiple departments responded overnight Tuesday after an intense fire destroyed multiple modular structures in Cahokia Heights.
The fire broke out a little before 2 a.m. on the 3900 block of Mississippi Avenue. The incident involved an abandoned business and several construction site trailers.
When firefighters arrived on the scene, they encountered an active fire in one of the buildings that had begun to spread. At least two double-wide trailers and a single-wide trailer were burned in the fire.
