ST. LOUIS – The Missouri State Board of Education voted Tuesday to strip St. Louis Public Schools (SLPS) of its status as a fully accredited school district, lowering its status to “provisional accreditation.”
The 6-1 decision to drop SLPS to provisional accreditation means the district failed to meet certain state benchmarks and could face closer oversight from the state.
