Charges have been filed against a Belleville man in connection with the alleged stabbing of a family member last weekend. Clinton Trentman is charged with aggravated domestic battery, aggravated battery and aggravated assault of a police officer. Trentman was shot and injured by police when they arrived on the scene to investigate.
The St. Clair County Sheriff’s Department was called to a domestic disturbance in the 2800 block of Old Collinsville Road in Swansea around 7:15am last Sunday, and located a man walking along the road who was armed with a weapon.
