Millstadt Waste Water Treatment Plant Structure Fire

The Millstadt Fire Department recently posted the following to their Facebook page:

“Yesterday, was an extremely busy day for our first responders. At 02:57 in the morning we were dispatched to Cahokia Heights to assist with a Dumpster Fire while their crews were working another call. While en route we were were diverted to an additional structure fire to assist Cahokia Volunteer Fire Department – Official & Camp Jackson Fire Department with a trailer fire involving 4 construction trailers. Our crews were released at 05:36 hours. Later in the afternoon were were dispatched at 13:09 for a brush fire in proximity to several backyards. Upon arrival the fire had spread to 3 additional properties. Our crews & mutual aid from Villa Hills Fire Department & Northwest St. Clair County Fire Protection District worked swiftly to extinguish these fires and keep them from spreading to the neighboring houses.

Then at 15:56 hours we were dispatched for a structure fire at our Waste Water Treatment Plant on Laurel Street. Upon arrival, we were met with fire working through the roof of the facility. Crews worked diligently to establish water supply and move to extinguish the fire. Well over 1000′ of 5″ hose was laid and multiple agencies worked diligently to bring this fire under control. We would like to thank all of our mutual aid departments that responded to the scene or moved up to neighboring fire houses to cover this response. We would like to thank, Columbia Fire Department, Northwest St. Clair County Fire Protection District, Villa Hills Fire Department for their response.
