St. Louis organization shares tips on identifying human trafficking

ST. LOUIS – January is National Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month, and the Healing Action Network, an organization in St. Louis that provides essential resources for survivors of human trafficking, has some tips to help the public spot a potential trafficking situation.

“Oftentimes, some of the signs or indicators of trafficking could include interacting with someone who has an excessive amount of money that doesn’t necessarily have an income or a job,” said Louis Killebrew, executive director of the Healing Action Network. “Maybe that doesn’t know where they’re at any given time, might not have access to IDs, birth certificates, some of those basic identifying documents.”
