Illinois winter storm set to begin tonight: Latest snowfall outlook

Winter storm warnings are set to go into effect across Missouri and Illinois this evening as an impactful snowstorm is set to pass over the region.

At least six inches of snow is expected for the Metro East region, with a little less moving north as a large winter storm is set to impact the area starting tonight and running through Sunday.

Currently, the St. Louis NWS predicts between 6 and 11 inches of snow for the St. Louis area.

“A major winter storm will impact the region Saturday morning through Sunday evening,” the St. Louis NWS said. “Heavy snowfall and dangerous cold is forecast for much of the region. The bulk of the snow is expected to fall Saturday evening into Sunday morning.”…
