3 people in custody after pursuit ends in crash in downtown St. Louis

ST. LOUIS – A man and two juveniles were taken into custody early Friday morning after an overnight pursuit ended in a crash in downtown St. Louis.

According to the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, the pursuit began a little before 4:30 a.m. in Granite City before entering St. Louis and ending in a crash at Tucker Boulevard, south of Hickory Street. The pursuit involved a black Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck.

The pursuit began on Nameoki Road after the Chevrolet fled away while an officer attempted to stop the vehicle for a traffic violation and a suspected crime. Police say the chase lasted nearly 30 minutes and traveled through several cities of Madison County, including Granite City and Pontoon Beach.

According to police, the Chevrolet’s tires began deflating before the pursuit crossed over the Stan Musial Veterans Memorial Bridge into St. Louis, causing the vehicle to eventually crash in the area of Tucker and Hickory…
