More and more over the past couple of days, the snow for this weekend is getting pushed further back into Sunday.
Our forecast for today calls for snow likely this afternoon with a high of just 12 and wind chill values as low as -15 during the day today. Snow today would be just around an inch possible. Then, snow tonight with a low of 9 and 1 to 3 inches of snow for tonight. For Sunday, we will see snow with a high of 15 and 3 to 7 inches of snow falling during the day on Sunday and tapering off in the afternoon.
In their latest update, the National Weather Service in St. Louis says a major winter storm will impact the region this morning through Sunday evening. Snow will come in two waves: one ongoing ending this evening, one late tonight-Sunday afternoon. This first wave will impact the majority of the area, but with lighter amounts. The second wave will feature heavier snow and be more focused in portions of southeast MO, southwest IL, and the St. Louis metro area. Dangerous cold is expected through this morning…
