FERGUSON, MO (KMOX) – The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s office has issued charges against Deandre U. Spruill, Junior of Ferguson in connection with the shooting death of Edward Johnson Friday.
Ferguson police responded to a call for a shooting near West Florissant and Canfield Drive. Edward Johnson was discovered in the driver’s seat of a crashed vehicle at the intersection of Ellison and Canfield Drive, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Johnson’s daughter was also in the vehicle at the time of the incident but was uninjured.
The probable cause statement indicates that two pedestrians were in the roadway at Canfield and West Florissant Avenue when Johnson honked his vehicle’s horn. As Johnson and his daughter drove past, the two individuals reportedly produced firearms. One of the individuals fired a shot that struck Johnson, causing him to lose control of the vehicle…
