‘Please help us’: City residents concerned about unequal city services, snow removal

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) – Residents in north and west St. Louis neighborhoods say they are still waiting for snow removal days on their streets after a winter storm, highlighting what some describe as unequal city services divided along racial and economic lines.

Tory Russell, a west side resident and organizer, said he walked his neighborhood near Etzel Avenue to check on neighbors because many remain snowed in.

“We’re probably a couple blocks north of Delmar, the Delmar divide,” Russell said. “They don’t come by; they never plow these streets, and if they do, they make it inconvenient for everyone.”…
