Woman accused of stealing $100K meant for sick pets in St. Louis

ST. LOUIS – A woman accused of stealing more than $100,000 in donations meant to help sick pets in the St. Louis region and using the money for personal expenses is now behind bars.

The Missouri Attorney General’s Office has charged Constance K. Kruse, 53, of Santa Fe, New Mexico, with one felony count of deceptive business practice.

Investigators say Kruse defrauded and financially exploited donors of Saving St. Louis Pets, a Missouri not-for-profit organization that helps provide medical care for sick pets within 150 miles of the City of St. Louis, primarily for owners with financial needs…
