EUREKA, Mo. – As temperatures rose above freezing on Monday, signs of frozen ponds melting were visible.
“It looks inviting,” said Chief Scott Barthelmass for the Eureka Fire Protection District. “It looks fun, but someone could very easily fall in.”
He’s concerned because firefighters spotted kids’ footprints on area ponds. Barthelmass said no amount of frozen water is safe in the St. Louis area…
