St. Louis property owners can still apply for tornado relief

ST. LOUIS — St. Louis property owners left with damage and debris from the May tornado have until February 14th to apply for the Private Property Assistance program.

“It’s designed to help residents do eligible repairs, get funds for those repairs through FEMA,” said Mayor Cara Spencer. “We have got to get these applications in, in order to get the work moving forward.”

Eligible applicants will receive free repairs using city, state and federal recovery funds. There are no income or home insurance requirements. But city officials say it’s been difficult to get in contact with some homeowners, many of whom rent out the damaged homes…
