ST. LOUIS — Commanders and force detectives are investigating after a deadly shooting involving an officer with the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department while executing a search warrant Tuesday morning at a south St. Louis home.
Major Janice Bockstruck told 5 On Your Side that SWAT officers were executing a search warrant related to weapons and narcotics at about 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at a home in the 8400 block of South Broadway, located in the city’s Patch neighborhood.
Bockstruck said everyone inside the home, except the main suspect, came out and surrendered peacefully. When police realized the main suspect was still inside, they ordered him to come out with his hands up. The suspect announced that he had a firearm but did not comply with officers’ commands.
