‘Inspiring’: St. Louis community, former congressman mourn the Rev. Jesse Jackson

ST. LOUIS — St. Louisans mourn alongside the nation honoring the life of civil rights icon, the Rev. Jesse Jackson.

The champion for equality passed away Tuesday morning at 84 years old.

“He helped change America for the better,” said former Congressman William Lacy Clay Jr. “He would call to speak to my dad. I would answer the phone and I let my parents know Rev. Jackson is on the phone.”…
