St. Louis – Laborers’ (LiUNA) locals 42, 660, 840, 829 and LiUNA Midwest organizers held a job action Feb. 11 at Doe Run corporate headquarters in St. Louis in support of Doe Run workers organizing with LiUNA Local 829 and demanding fair treatment, respect, and the right to form a union without intimidation at the Doe Run mines in Southeast Missouri.
Laborers also rallied at Doe Run parent company Renco’s corporate headquarters in New York City.
They were sending a message to management at Doe Run and to workers in Missouri: as Doe Run cuts workers’ pay and benefits and spreads disinformation about unions, the LiUNA is here, ready to represent the workers…
