ST. LOUIS — Thieves broke into a historic Soulard tavern Saturday morning, something the owner said is a recurring problem.
“It’s like being kicked in the shin,” owner Cory Hammerstone said a day later about the 3 a.m. break-in at the South 9th Street watering hole that bears her last name.
“That’s the third time we’ve had somebody smash their way in and the fourth break-in we’ve had in the last five years. The first time it happened I was like, ‘Wow, that was weird.’ Then the second time I was like, ‘Really again?’ Now the third time, we’re just like … what do you do?”…
