St. Louis restaurant openings and closings: February 2026

It may be the shortest month of the year, but February seemed to linger – and it brought a wave of restaurant openings across the St. Louis metro area.

Shortwave Coffee, based in Columbia, Missouri, took over the former Quarrelsome Coffee space, while Arzola’s Fajitas + Margaritas expanded with a new riverside location in St. Charles. Katie’s Pizza & Pasta debuted its fourth location in Crestwood, at the corner of Sappington and Watson roads.

There were notable closures as well. Friendship Brewing shut down in Wentzville, though its location in Flint Hill remains open. Carondelet favorite Kabul Express STL closed after 10 years in business, and the venerable Tony’s Restaurant in Clayton closed its doors on Feb. 15…
