At the regular meeting of the City of Madison city council on March 2, it was decided to move discussions to a special slate of committee meetings in March rather than extend the regular meeting. That decision was formalized later in the meeting.
Prior to the decision, the council approved the submission of a letter of support for the Terminal Railroad. Terminal Railroad is seeking a third main line at the Bent Road crossing. The letter of support from the city will support the project. It is anticipated that the addition will reduce the blockages of city street crossings.
The council also voted to approve the purchase and installation of an LPR (license plate reader) enclosure and a four-head camera at the racetrack. Utilitra will be given the project at a cost of $10,610.39. The cameras will have views of Interstates 55 and 70 and Illinois Route 203.
