A Saturday night gathering of teenagers in north St. Louis turned violent when a 14-year-old was shot as a large crowd filtered out of an event space, according to police. The shooting happened just before midnight near Broadway and Baden, where officers had been called in to clear the scene. The teen was hit by gunfire and taken to a hospital, and authorities say the victim is in stable condition. The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department reports that officers were not shot at during the incident and were not struck by gunfire. The case remains under active investigation.
