BELLEVILLE, Ill. — A death investigation was underway after a man was found dead on the side of the roadway Wednesday morning in Belleville.
According to the Belleville Police Department, police officers responded at about 5:20 a.m. Wednesday, to a report of a man unconscious on the side of the roadway in the area of Illinois Route 161 and Sullivan Drive, near the Dollar General.
