Man finds owner of junkyard car he purchased, sets fire to home: Records

ST.LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – A St. Louis man is in custody after allegedly setting fire to a woman’s house Tuesday after purchasing her old car from a junkyard.

According to records, Corey Thompson (age not provided) bought a car from a junkyard, which the victim had owned over a year ago. The vehicle was showing mechanical issues which is when Thompson went to the victim’s house to demand money.

While Thompson was parked, the victim was driving home and circled around when she saw her old vehicle outside. As she returned, she discovered that someone forced their way into her home and a fire had been started on her living room curtain…
