A Madison County jury took less than an hour to find a Granite City man guilty of several crimes. 52 year old Victor Dantzson was convicted for residential burglary, aggravated battery and threatening a public official in a March 2025 incident. He faces up to 30 years in prison.
Prosecutors said Dantzson used a screwdriver to break into the home of an ex-girlfriend on Benton Street and was waiting for her when she returned. He then kicked and verbally threatened to kill a responding police officer. After the arrest, he tried to call the woman from jail more than 500 times. Authorities say in 2003, he broke into the home of a different ex-girlfriend and stabbed her, which resulted in a conviction and sentence of 17 years in prison. State’s Attorney Tom Haine…..
