Car into building after multi-vehicle crash on I-44

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) – A car crashed into a building Tuesday morning following a multiple-vehicle crash on Interstate 44 in South City.

The crash happened before 8:30 a.m. on westbound Interstate 44 near the Hampton exit. The St. Louis Fire Department says multiple vehicles were involved in a crash on Interstate 44, and one of those vehicles went off the highway and into Ackerman Toyota on Hampton.

The fire department says one adult was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries following the crash.

St. Louis Police say the driver who crashed into the building told them a tire had come off a truck, which caused the driver to swerve. When he swerved, police say he struck another vehicle before going off the interstate into the building…
