For the March 11 Collinsville Township board meeting the environment was a lot more calm and subdued. Though the meeting wasn’t down to a handful of attendees, the attendance was less than it has been since the contentious relationship between Supervisor Derrick Cox and Assessor Peter Poletti became public knowledge. However, with the settling of Mr. Poletti’s lawsuit, the tone of the meeting seemed to focus on correcting misinformation and saying goodbye to resigning Clerk Jim Achenbach. For public comments there were only two. First comment was from Jeanie Lomax, Collinsville resident whose concern that now that the lawsuit has been settled, and the comments Trustee Mike Prosser shared two meetings ago. She wondered if Trustee Prosser’s suggestion of residents to cut back on frivolous spending was going to be used to tax the residents more.
