Off-duty officer accused of shooting daughter’s boyfriend denied bond reduction

CLAYTON, Mo. – Richard Booker had several supporters in court, including his wife. His attorney asked a judge to reduce the police officer’s $150,000 cash-only bond for an off-duty shooting of his daughter’s boyfriend.

Booker, 53, is a 30-plus year veteran of the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department. He was off duty last week, March 25, when he reportedly went with his wife to the victim’s home before the shooting.

Booker’s defense attorney, Scott Rosenblum said, “They were on their way to help their daughter clean up the house from a previous altercation. That was it.”
