People lined up in the rain the morning of April 4 near Village Hall to take advantage of Glen Carbon’s annual free tree giveaway, an opportunity for area residents to receive free native tree saplings ready for planting.
Glen Carbon resident Donna Nahlik comes to the event “every time they have it” because “it’s incredibly important to replace what we use, and we always take the opportunity to plant a new tree.”
