‘Are we going to die?’: St. Louis family recounts midair scare during vacation flight

ST. LOUIS — A St. Louis family’s trip to Punta Cana turned into a midair scare and unexpected detour when their Frontier Airlines flight made an emergency landing.

About 80 minutes into the nonstop flight last Monday from St. Louis Lambert International Airport, passenger Megan Kim said she knew something was wrong.

“I panicked. I stopped the flight attendant and I said, ‘Are we going to die?’” Kim said. “No explanations. All we got was when the pilot came on saying that one of the engines had rolled back.”…
