St. Louis area schools revamp sporting event rules to protect students and spectators

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. — Major security changes are on the table for school sporting events across the region following a deadly double shooting that claimed the life of a 13-year-old boy.

The tragedy occurred outside the STEAM Academy at McCluer South-Berkeley High School during a track meet March 31.

Since then, the Ferguson-Florissant School District says every safety measure is being re-evaluated to manage crowds and mitigate danger before, during, and after games.
