Mississippi-Missouri confluence temporarily closed during levee construction in north county park

Land access to the confluence of the Mississippi and Missouri rivers is closed at Columbia Bottom Conservation Area in Spanish Lake during the construction of a new setback levee.

The road and foot trail leading to the confluence will remain closed until crews finish demolishing the existing levee along the river.

The kayak and canoe access point at the Mississippi shore will also be closed during the project. Boaters can still reach the water at the Missouri River boat ramp on the north side of the park…
