Violence interrupters bring new energy to Walnut Park tradition

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) – The sound of the grill, laughter in the street, and neighbors reconnecting marked 4-9 Day in Walnut Park, a day residents say has long been known as “Hood Day.”

Bev Mo stood at the grill cooking burgers named after her son.

“I’m grilling some D-dub burgers that I named after my son, who passed away in 2009,” Mo said. “He was raised around here, went to school around here, grew up around here.”…
