ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) – Thousands of area homeowners voted April 7 in favor of expanding a property tax freeze to all residents, but taxpayers will have to wait to take advantage of the tax break.
The expanded property tax freeze passed in Jefferson, Franklin, and Warren counties. It failed in St. Charles County. The 2025 state law requiring the vote did not apply to the City of St. Louis or St. Louis County.
