Spencer announces new plan for Rams settlement funds

ST. LOUIS – A new proposal from Mayor Cara Spencer’s office calls for the bulk of Rams settlement money to be allocated across three big priorities: tornado recovery, infrastructure repair, and downtown revitalization.

At present, the city has $255 million in settlement money at its disposal. The mayor’s plan would put $110 million for tornado recovery and rebuilding in north St. Louis, $65 million for infrastructure, and $55 million for downtown improvements. The remaining $25 million will left as a reserve and safety net.

The mayor’s proposal was shared with the St. Louis Board of Aldermen earlier this week.
