Family sues city after man killed in crash at wrong-way traffic signal

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) – The family of a man killed in a crash police say was caused by a traffic signal facing the wrong way filed a lawsuit Thursday, naming St. Louis City and others.

The family of Vincent Sweeney is suing the city, saying it has a duty to ensure traffic signals are in working order.

In February 2023, Sweeney was involved in a crash at the intersection of Morganford and Bates. He was taken to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead, St. Louis City police reported at the time…
