Hot & windy Sunday, active weather returns to start workweek

ST. LOUIS – We have a windy and hot Sunday ahead of us with high temperatures climbing to about 90 degrees. Southerly winds will gust to over 25 mph.

Tonight, a decaying complex of storms will be approaching from the northwest. This area of rain and thunder looks to arrive by early Monday morning. This means we could possibly see widespread showers and storms lingering into the day. This could have a large impact on the severe potential later in the day. If instability is able to recover across our area Monday afternoon and evening, any lingering shower and storm activity may be able to intensify.

Right now, there are a lot of questions surrounding how Monday’s rain chances will evolve, which means there is also considerable uncertainty regarding the severe weather threat later in the day. A slow-moving cold front will keep conditions unsettled through Tuesday, and the threat of severe weather will continue then as well…
