After tornado, hundreds of students dropped off St. Louis school rosters. A nonprofit is helping track down where they went

ST. LOUIS — A local nonprofit is on a mission to find students who have vanished from the classroom after the May 16 tornado.

The Little Bit Foundation is working alongside St. Louis Public Schools to locate 500 students and their families who have been unaccounted for since last year.

“This is like finding needles in a haystack,” said Miranda Walker Jones, President and CEO of The Little Bit Foundation. “We have a list of about 520 kids that did not come back to St. Louis Public Schools. We don’t know what school districts they went to.”…
