It’s the heat and the humidity this week in Minnesota

Not only is it going to be hot on Monday, it’s going to be hot for a while throughout Minnesota. The forecast calls for 90-degree heat in the Twin Cities all the way through Thursday, with heat indices making it feel like 100 degrees. And no rain is expected.

“We just don’t have any way of breaking down this large heat dome that’s kind of taking residence over both the upper Mississippi Valley and even into the Ohio Valley,” said National Weather Service forecaster Joe Calderone.

There is an extreme heat warning in the Twin Cities right now, and it won’t be lifted until at least Thursday.

“At some point Friday and into the weekend, there’s going to be a small break,” said Calderone. “It’s not going to be, all of a sudden, massive air mass change. It’s still going to be warm, but, by the end of the week, just not the extent that we’re seeing right now.”…
