The nonprofit responsible for reviewing most applications for Minnesota’s $100 million Promise Act program says it is strengthening its oversight process as state officials seek to recover taxpayer money awarded to businesses that were not eligible for grants.
The Neighborhood Development Center (NDC), a prominent Twin Cities nonprofit, was awarded a state contract to administer more than $86 million in Promise Act grants to qualifying small businesses in the Twin Cities.
