Eight months after driver crashed into dining room, St. Paul restaurant will reopen

More than eight months after a car crashed into its dining room, Mandalay Kitchen is ready to reopen.

The St. Paul restaurant, which opened just over two years ago, was forced to close for construction and renovations after a car plowed through its front window on Jan. 15.

In the aftermath, it launched a fundraiser to support staff through what became an extended closure. “Our staff are the backbone of this restaurant and incredible people in their community,” the restaurant wrote at that time.

Mandalay Kitchen wrote in a post this week that “construction is complete” and it is preparing to reopen on Oct. 1…
