Two semi crashes snarl early morning traffic along I-94 in downtown St. Paul

A pair of semitrailer crashes tangled traffic along Interstate 94 in downtown St. Paul overnight and through the early part of the Wednesday morning commute.

The two crashes happened less than four hours apart in nearly the same spot, the eastbound lanes at the Wabasha Street bridge. But the Minnesota State Patrol said they were not related.

The first crash happened at about 12:30 a.m. when a semi driven by a 41-year-old man from Blaine lost control and jackknifed. The driver was not injured…
