Fatal Shooting Overnight in Minneapolis, Minnesota

MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA – One person is dead after an apparent shooting last night on the 2000 Block of Washington Ave North, according to the Minneapolis Police Department.

Officers from the 4th Precinct responded to the reports of a shooting at 11:50 PM on January 24th. Approximately 5 minutes later, a 47-year-old male arrived at a local area hospital with at least one potentially life-threatening gunshot wound. Police say the male later died at the hospital. Officers secured and located the possible scene near the 2400 block of Washington Ave North, and MPD Forensic scientists processed the scene and collected evidence.

Police say that preliminary information indicates that an altercation escalated to gunfire and that there have been no arrests made.
