Minneapolis, MN – In a startling incident late Saturday night in Northeast Minneapolis, a stolen Kia Sorento crashed into multiple vehicles, including a Minneapolis police squad car. The event unfolded around 10:30 p.m. on Lowry Avenue near Central Avenue, with the stolen SUV being driven erratically down the wrong side of the road.
The Kia, in its haphazard path, first collided with the squad car before proceeding to smash into a street sign and then an Audi also on Lowry Avenue. Following the series of crashes, eyewitnesses reported seeing up to three individuals fleeing the scene of the accident in a black Toyota Prius.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported from this incident. However, the damage to the police vehicle and other affected cars marks a significant outcome of the crash. As of now, no arrests have been made, and the Minneapolis Police Department is actively investigating the situation.
