After a two year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the beloved Basilica Block Party is set to make its triumphant return to Minneapolis in 2024.
Organizers announced on Wednesday that the music festival will take place August 2-3 at a new venue – Boom Island Park.
“We are thrilled to bring back the Basilica Block Party in 2024,” said Father Daniel Griffith, pastor and rector at the Basilica of Saint Mary. “This event has become a cherished summer tradition in Minneapolis, providing great entertainment while also supporting the Basilica’s mission and outreach programs.”
The Basilica Block Party debuted in 1995 and has been a staple of the Twin Cities summer music festival scene ever since.
While details on the 2024 lineup have not yet been released, the festival has previously hosted major acts like The Lumineers, Gary Clark Jr., and blink-182. The event also showcases local artists on smaller stages.
Beyond the music, attendees can expect a wide array of food vendors, beverages, and other activities that celebrate the Basilica and Minneapolis community.
