Body found in North St. Paul last month identified as missing woman

Police have confirmed that the body found in North St. Paul last month is that of a woman missing from the city since July 2023.

The St. North Paul Police Department announced Thursday that the remains found in a wooded area on May 3 are that of Sheila Ann Wallin, 51, of North St. Paul.

Officers located the body in the wooded area to the east of 3rd Street near Oakhill Place, having been alerted by someone walking in the woods.

The Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office conducted the autopsy and formal identification, officially confirming her identity.

An appeal for information issued on Wallin’s behalf stated that she was last seen leaving her former boyfriend’s house, whom she had a protective order against at the time, on July 27, 2023.

At the time of her disappearance, she was struggling with mental health issues and required insulin and medication but did not take any with her.

“We had hoped for a different outcome, but God had a different plan for Sheila. We would like to thank all those volunteers involved in our search,” said a family member on Facebook. “We would ask for continued prayers and privacy as our family moves forward.”
