Country superstars Garth Brooks and wife Trisha Yearwood in St. Paul for Habitat for Humanity

Country superstar singer Garth Brooks and his wife Trisha Yearwood are in town helping to build houses for Habitat for Humanity.

This year’s build event is Brooks’ and Yearwood’s 14th with the global housing nonprofit, bringing the Heights neighborhood to life on St. Paul’s east side. Brooks says serving families is the couple’s passion.

“I love the stories, I love the volunteers,” Brooks said Monday in St. Paul. “You talk about what it takes to pull all these volunteers together, I can’t imagine. But what you’ll see is all these people working in harmony.”

2019 house recipient Leandra Estes says her Habitat for Humanity home has changed her life and the lives of her children.

“And for my whole family, the generational impact is foreseeable and it’s attainable,” Estes said.

Its all part of the 2024 Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter Work Project and the nonprofit’s largest-ever development in the Twin Cities, “The Height’s” .

Yearwood says she’s proud to be one of thousands volunteers working at the sight.
