A man was arrested after he allegedly shot a woman while going door to door in Golden Valley on Thursday.
According to the Golden Valley Police Department, officers responded to a report of a man going from house to house banging on doors on the 5200 block of Circle Down just before 9 p.m.
At the scene, officers found a man who appeared to be under the influence of drugs. He was then taken to a local hospital.
At the same time, a woman was taken to North Memorial Health-Maple Grove with a gunshot wound in her leg. The woman told police she was shot while at a friend’s house. She also identified the suspect as the man police found at the scene.
The woman’s injuries were non-life threatening, according to GVPD. The suspect has been released from the hospital and booked into the Hennepin County Jail for 1st-degree assault.
