MINNEAPOLIS — From hundreds of miles away, Minnesotans are doing what they can to help people devastated by the wildfires across the Los Angeles area.
In his Minneapolis apartment, Aaron Litschke can hear the pain in his friend’s voice over the phone. Kevin and Karin Irvin lost their home and belongings in Altadena, California after a fire burned it all to the ground. The Irvins were able to safely evacuate with their 8-month-old baby and dog.
Litschke and Irvin have been good friends for decades, maintaining their friendship even after Irvin moved from Minnesota to California more than 20 years ago. “He’s the best,” Litschke said. “He just cares about people. I mean, there’s a lot of people that care about people, but when you have someone like that in your corner, it’s like, well he’s taken care of other people, we’re going to make sure he’s taken care of, too.”…
