ST. PAUL, MN – A tip from an informant led St. Paul, Minnesota police to a tense standoff and arrests in a kidnapping case linked to a Mexican drug cartel. The incident unfolded on the city’s East Side, where authorities acted swiftly to prevent what they believed could have turned deadly.

Three Suspects Charged

Three individuals face charges related to the kidnapping:

  • Richar Sanchez Mujica, 30: Two counts of kidnapping.
  • Kendra Sue Johnson, 39: Two counts of kidnapping.
  • Erling Soren Holdahl, 48: Two counts of kidnapping, one count of first-degree drug possession, and one count of illegal firearm possession.

The arrests occurred on Tuesday, according to Ramsey County court records.

Police Action and Arrest Details

Authorities received information in December connecting Mujica to drug trafficking. His phone was tracked between Monday night and Tuesday evening in the Payne Avenue area, prompting police to act. A warrant had already been issued for Mujica after he missed a court appearance for a DWI charge in August.

On Tuesday afternoon, police and St. Paul SWAT responded to the 700 block of Payne Avenue after an informant tipped off authorities.
