MINNEAPOLIS — A woman and a dog are dead after being pulled from a fire Tuesday evening in the Windom Park neighborhood in northeast Minneapolis.
According to the Minneapolis Fire Department, crews were called to a 2-1/2- story residential duplex in the 1000 block of 19th Avenue Northeast around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. When crews arrived, officials said they found heavy black smoke in the second-floor unit but no fire. Crews found a smoldering couch fire and extinguished some “hotspots.”
During the search, the firefighters found a woman and a dog unconscious on the floor. Crews carried both the woman and the dog out of the building and immediately began CPR. Paramedics arrived and continued emergency medical care, however, the woman and the dog were pronounced dead at the scene…
