Texas man indicted for escaping federal custody in Minnesota

A Texas man has been indicted for escaping from federal custody in the Twin Cities.

Minnesota U.S. Attorney Andrew Luger announced this week that Ismael Benavidez, 48, is facing charges for walking from from a Volunteers of America Residential Reentry Center in the Twin Cities.

Volunteers of America offers transitional custody and programs for people towards the end of their prison sentences, providing support as they prepare to reenter the community…
